Entain, a company known in the iGaming industry worldwide, continues to grow. Recently, it has targeted the Canadian market, and specifically the province of Ontario.
Already the owner of the most famous online sports betting operators such as Bwin, and online casinos such as PartyCasino and partypoker, it has recently approached Middlebrook Investments with the aim of acquiring Avid Gaming.
The acquisition of Avid Gaming was recently finalized for $300 million Canadian, the equivalent of almost $240 million U.S.
Having applied for a license in Ontario, it has added Avid Gaming to the other operators under its umbrella.
According to Entain’s CEO, Jette Nygaard-Andersen, “Sports Interaction, which is considered Canada’s number one iGaming company, is a source of pride for us, as it embraces the same ambitions as the parent company, namely: quality customer service, an ethic of perfection and a commitment to sustainability.”
He added, “Entain wants to bring together Avid Gaming’s knowledge and expertise with ours. This will allow us to offer customers a product that is unmatched and attractive in Canada. I personally look forward to meeting Will Golby’s team at Entain, as I am confident that we can make a difference in this rapidly changing market.”
Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke operates Sports Interaction in Canada, and this partnership will continue as agreed.
Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Grand Chief Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer said:
Entain, which is known worldwide, will make a positive contribution wherever it operates
The partnership between Mohawks of Kahnawà:ke and Entain will be beneficial to both parties. This will create a unique opportunity for us to prosper in the long term
The acquisition will obviously have an impact on key positions. CEO Golby’s team will lead Entain, as they have contributed to Sports Interaction’s phenomenal growth in 2021, generating almost $80 million Canadian in revenue, nearly double the amount of the previous year.
Canada remains a market that attracts the envy of all companies and iGaming operators, as the country is experiencing significant growth in this sector. The province of Ontario, like many other provinces, will benefit from its share of the incredible revenues from sports betting and online casinos.
